  • AirTAC places great importance on the intellectual property. To strengthen employees' awareness of intellectual property and ensure that employees' behavior aligns with intellectual property regulations, we have established Intellectual Property Management System to protect the rights and interests of the company and avoid infringing on the rights of others. We enhance our overall competitiveness through continuous trademark management. This is in line with our code of corporate governance, with the goal of achieving sustainable business growth and the long-term vision of the company.

    To ensure a well-established process, the Company has formulated intellectual property-related policies, including the "Intellectual Property Management Manual", "Trademark Management Procedures", and "Patent Incentive Measures". All intellectual property-related documents are centrally managed by the Document Control Center, with document control procedures and confidential document management regulations in place to ensure the integrity and security of intellectual property rights.

    Annually, the Company establishes an intellectual property management strategy and sets related objectives in line with its development goals, and has incentive programs in place to encourage employees' innovative ideas. In addition, confidentiality and intellectual property ownership agreements signed with key intellectual property personnel explicitly stipulate that any research and development results and intellectual property rights arising from their duties or work-related activities shall belong to the Company, ensuring the Company's legal ownership of intellectual property rights. Furthermore, the Company actively safeguards its innovative R&D outcomes by enforcing its rights and taking measures to prevent infringement.

    In terms of patent protection, the Company's patent management strategy focuses on encouraging employees to submit proposals to stimulate active research and development and innovation, thereby enhancing the Company's competitiveness and operational vitality. The Company also accelerates patent applications for newly developed products or technologies to strengthen the protection of its rights and interests. Regarding trademark management, in addition to continuously monitoring the global trademark landscape, the Company conducts competitor trademark monitoring and strategic trademark planning to enhance brand recognition and maintain a competitive market advantage.

     

    Intellectual Property Management Policy and Goals

    1.Intellectual Property Management Policy:

    (1) Enhance brand recognition and maintain market competitiveness.

    (2) Continuously improve communication with external intellectual property firms to strengthen Intellectual Property Management.

    (3) Establish a comprehensive trademark strategy to avoid infringing on the rights of others and prevent infringement by others, thereby safeguarding the company's reputation.

    (4) Raise intellectual property awareness among personnel involved in intellectual property-related tasks.

    (5) Continuously optimize internal Intellectual Property Management regulations and allocate necessary resources.

    2.Intellectual Property Management Goals:

    (1) Review and update the current Intellectual Property Management System and continuously maintain TIPS (Level A) re-verification.

    (2) Conduct at least 2 hours each of basic, responsibility-specific, and audit-related intellectual internally.

    (3) Conduct the company trademark inventory at least once a year.

    (4) Engage external intellectual property firms to conduct competitor trademark monitoring and trademark strategy reports, with at least one report produced annually.

     

    Intellectual Property Risks and Countermeasures

    Considering the internal and external issues that affect intellectual property and Intellectual Property Management system, as well as the expectations of stakeholders' concerning for the development and effective management of intellectual property. AirTAC has identified and confirmed the risks and opportunities that need to be addressed and relevant countermeasures have been established. The intellectual property management system promotion team holds an annual intellectual property management review meeting every year to assess changes in the internal and external environment and the effectiveness of the intellectual property management system. This allows us continuous adjustments and improvements to protect the interests of stakeholders. The following measures have been implemented to mitigate potential intellectual property risks:

    1.Continuous strengthening of employee's basic awareness of intellectual property:

    In order to enhance the protection of intellectual property rights, the HR department organizes annual intellectual property education and training to strengthen basic understanding of intellectual property.

    2.Deployment of trademark management:

    To protect the company's intellectual property rights and brand, we implement a global trademark strategy to ensure legal protection for the innovations and brand.

    3.Implement intellectual property management:

    Established intellectual property management promotion team, and we use the "PDCA cycle" as the foundation to create a systematic management system that connection intellectual property management with business goals. Based on the Intellectual Property Management Manual, we have set management objectives for the acquisition, protection, maintenance, and utilization of the company's intellectual property.

    2.Deployment of Global Trademark and Patent Portfolio Result:

    Up until October 2024, 263 approved patents have been accumulated (including: invention patent, utility model patent and design patent). Additionally, 150 approved and valid trademarks have been accumulated globally. (throughout 35 countries)

    3.Certification Achieved

    We passed the Taiwan Intellectual Property Management System (TIPS) A-level certification. The certificate is valid until December 31, 2025.

     

    4.We regularly report intellectual Property Matters to the board of directors.
